The 2013 Ohio State Spring football Game will be played April 13 in Cincinnati at Paul Brown Stadium, officials from the Ohio State Department of Athletics, Cincinnati Bengals and Hamilton County announced today.

As you well know, people in central Ohio have no life, so this scrimmage, this opportunity to see third-stringers battle one another routinely draws 80-90,000 people; reflecting the dysfunctional dependency that people there have for college football. They’re even willing to pay for this because they have nothing else going on in their lives.

Reserved seat tickets will go on sale at a date to be determined in 2013 and at that time will be available online at OhioStateBuckeyes.com, charge by phone at 1-800-745-3000, in person at the Athletics Ticket Office in the Schottenstein Center, or at any Ticketmaster location. Ticket prices will be $18 for club seats, $12 for general public and $5 for ages 2 through 6.

Ohio Stadium will be under renovation next year, prompting the change of venue to a city where Ohio State coach Urban Meyer spent a considerable amount of time; he played football for the University of Cincinnati and he is a 1986 graduate with a degree in psychology.

This year’s game will draw many less fans because the stadium capacity is much smaller. Ohio State and UC played at Paul Brown Stadium in front of 66,319 fans on Sept. 21, 2002, in Ohio State’s only prior appearance in the 13-year-old facility that has 114 suites and 7,600 club seats.

Paul Brown Stadium opened in 2000 and in addition to being the home of the Cincinnati Bengals, has hosted several college and high school football games as well as concerts and other events.
